Tuber Sales & Shipping Information

Tubers are sold as individual tubers. We ship only viable, intact tubers that include a body, neck, crown, and at least one visible eye.

Spring-Shipped Tubers

Our goal is to ship all spring orders by May 1, though Mother Nature does not always cooperate. Most spring shipments go out mid to late April, with earlier shipping in March if weather allows.

If you have not received your tubers by May 15, please contact us.

We ship via USPS, based on current reliability and service trends. Tracking information is provided. While we carefully pack every order, we cannot be responsible for packages lost in transit. Most shipments include $100 in carrier insurance, and any claims must be filed directly by the customer with USPS.

Upon Receipt

Please open and properly store your tubers immediately upon delivery.

Any issues with your order must be reported within 3 days of receipt. After that time, plant performance is beyond our control and depends on growing conditions, care, weather, and nature.

If you believe you received a mislabel, we require photos of the tuber with our number visible. We work very hard to ensure accuracy. While mistakes can happen, we take labeling seriously and do our best to avoid them.

Inventory & Refunds

If we run out of a variety or experience a storage failure, our standard practice is to refund the affected variety and notify you. Inventory quantities are conservative estimates, and we do our best to avoid disappointment.

Tubers vary naturally in shape and size. Tuber size does not determine plant performance.

Virus & Pest Management

Dahlias are known to have a relatively high incidence of virus across the industry. Comprehensive virus testing is not feasible for us while keeping tubers affordable, and testing does not guarantee virus-free plants, as viruses are commonly spread by insects during the growing season.

We:

  • Sanitize tools between plants

  • Cull anything suspicious

  • Take care to avoid cross-contamination during dividing and cutting

Our pest management approach includes beneficial insects whenever possible. When spraying is necessary, it is done in the evening and primarily with organic treatments, though non-organic options may be used if required. We continually work to improve soil health through testing, amendments, and composting to promote stronger plants with reduced pest pressure.

Sales Are Final

No cancellations are allowed. Tubers are reserved specifically for you. Please double-check that your shipping address is correct before placing your order.

Once purchased, tubers are yours to do with as you please—grow them, gift them, donate them, or otherwise enjoy them however you wish.

Questions & Concerns

If you have any questions or concerns about your tubers, please contact us directly first. I personally inspect every tuber for viability before shipping. If something isn’t right, we want to know immediately so we can help.

Tubers may be oddly shaped (they are roots and grow together), and some may develop light wrinkles during winter storage—this is normal and does not affect viability. Healthy tubers will still grow strong, beautiful plants just like their parent plants.

Tracking information will be sent when your order ships. USPS includes $100 of insurance per package, and customers may file claims directly with the carrier if needed.
